Day 1 12AM Update: First gold medals awarded *SPOILERS*

Coverage of the Women's Shooting 10m Air Rifle Competiton and Women's Flyweight Weightlifting can be seen later tonight starting at 2AM on USA Network

Czech Republic's Katerina Emmons won the gold medal in women's air rifle shooting to capture the first gold medal of these games. Meanwhile, China won its first gold medal of the games, expected to be the first of many, when Xiexia Chen won the gold in the women's flyweight weightlifting competition and broke an Olympic record along the way with a score of 212.

Currently going on:
-The Men's Cycling Road Race is undeway as it winds along the treets of Beijing. NOW Sports will update you on the latest going on there. Paolo Bettini is looking for another gold medal after winning the top prize in Athens. Stefan Schumacher of Germany is also a contender as well. There is still a considerable amount of the race left.

- Preliminary rounds of judo in the women's 48kg and men's 63kg weight classes.

- Women's basketball preliminary round: New Zealand vs. Mali

- Fencing: Round of 16 in women's individual sabre
All three Americans include Mariel Zagunis, Rebecca Ward and Sada Jacobson have made the round of 16.

- Preliminary rounds in badminton

- Preliminary games in women's handball and volleyball

ON TV:
Nothing until 2AM when CNBC shows live boxing and USA Network shows live women's soccer and women's basketball. USA Network will also have coverage of the first gold medal events of these games.

On NBC at 10AM, the USA Women's volleyball team plays Japan and the men's cycling road race will be shown. You'll also see preliminary heats in swimming and opening games of beach volleyball.
