Day 3 PREVIEW: Hansen vs. Kitajima Highlight Action in the Pool

Time to get into the first weekday of these Olympics. It is now Monday morning and competition for Day 3 of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad will get underway shortly. Thirteen sets of medals will be given out today. Highlighting today's action is more events from the Water Cube, including the men's 100m breaststroke final and the Men's 10m Synchro Diving final.

EVENTS TO WATCH:
- Swimming Finals: Brendan Hansen vs. Kosuke Kitajima in Men's 100m Breaststroke (LIVE on NBC, LIVE BLOG Coverage on NOW Sports)
Hansen is entered in only one individual event at these games after qualifying for only the 100m Breaststroke at the swimming trials last month. Kitajima is the overwhelming favorite as he looked consistently strong in the preliminaries and in yesterday's semifinals. While Kitajima is a threat to Hansen, his biggest rival may be himself. The world record holder placed third in his heat and performed poorly in the preliminaries. Meanwhile, look out for Norway's Alexander Dale Oen who swam an Olympic record time in the semifinals, a time of 59.16.

Three other finals will take place tonight as well, including the Men's 4x100 meter freestyle relay, an event whose world record was broken earlier today by the United States swimming team. The women's 100m butterfly final and women's 400m freestyle final will take place this morning as well in Beijing.

-Volleyball: Women's Preliminaries, USA vs. Cuba (LIVE on NBC Late Nite)
The United States women's volleyball team faces world volleyball power Cuba in their second preliminary round match, coming off a win over Japan on Saturday.

- Diving: Men's 10 meter Platform Synchronized Diving
Reigning world champions Lin Yue and Huo Liang of China dive for gold in front of the home crowd.
