Day 7 PREVIEW: Multiple Duels in the Pool, Women's All-Around Final

It's another big night at both the Water Cube and National Indoor Stadium as rivalries and star-studded matchups take place at both venues. Also, we will witness the start of competition in multiple sports today as well as the conclusion of competition in other sports.

EVENTS TO WATCH...
- Swimming: Men's 200m Backstroke Final (10:19PM) and Men's 200m Individual Medley Final (10:48PM), Coverage LIVE in the east coast on NBC, LIVE BLOG on NOW Sports (available in ALL time zones)
Phelps-watch is back as Michael Phelps will seek his sixth gold medal at these games in the final of the 200 meter individual medley. But this morning's finals have an even bigger story and it surrounds Phelps's opponent and fellow American Ryan Lochte, who is Phelps's biggest threat in this race. Lochte is not only trying to upset Phelps in the medley final, he's also trying to take out Aaron Peirsol in the 200 meter backstroke final, taking place just a half-hour earlier. It will be interesting to watch whether or not Lochte will be able to pull off a double, or even win gold in one of them.

Also taking place this morning are finals in the women's 200 meter breaststorke and 100m freestyle.

- Gymnastics: Women's Individual All-Around Final, 11:15PM

This is the matchup that most fans of the Olympic Games have been looking forward too. Coming off a silver medal finish in the team final, Americans Nastia Liukin and defending world champion Shawn Johnson will battle for individual glory. But both Americans will have to worry about the Chinese, who won gold in the team final on Wednesday. Yang Yilin and Jiang Yuyuen are looking to give China its fourth gold medal of the gymnastics competition in as many days.

- Women's Soccer: Quarterfinal, USA vs. Canada, 6AM

It's time for the knockout rounds in Olympic football (soccer) and the defending gold medalists United States will take on their border rivals Canada, who haven't lost in this tournament following wins over Argentina and Sweden, and a 1-1 draw with China.

- Athletics: Men's Shot Put Final, 9AM

One week ago, the Bird's Nest played host to one huge party that welcomed the world to Beijing. Today, the first day and night of competition takes place at the centerpiece venue as finals will take place tonight (Friday morning in U.S.) in the men's shotput and the women's 10,000 meters. American shot putter Reese Hoffa searches for his first Olympic medal while fellow American Adam Nelson, who silver in Sydney and Athens, will look to turn silver into his first gold medal.
