Day 6 11AM Update: USA Beats Greece, Blake Beats Federer

The action on the court is the focus of these Olympic Games at the moment, while medals were awarded in judo, wrestling and fencing.

Undefeated USA dominates Greece, To Face Undefeated Spain Next
In a matchup with the last team who defeated them, the United States made no mistakes as Chris Bosh and Kobe Bryant led the scoring for the Americans as they dominated Greece 92-69. In what started out as a close game, the Redeem Team broke open the scoring in the second quarter as the Americans eventually blocked seven of Greece's shots and made 15 steals. For Greece, this is their second loss of the tournament and with a record of 1-2, Greece needs to win both of their next games to have a chance of advancing to the next round.

And for the United States, the win sets up a huge matchup with the defending world champions Spain in their next preliminary game to take place on Saturday.

No Federer-Nadal Final as James Blake Moves on to Semifinals
Federer has been focusing so hard on trying to win the one tournament that has eluded him in all his years of playing tennis -- an Olympic gold medal. Maybe he was focusing too hard. Federer looked flat and not so confident as Blake won the match in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6. Upsets continued on the women's side as Serena Williams lost to Elena Dementieva in three sets, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

Too bad for Federer, this might be his last Olympic Games because I don't see him remaining this strong for another four years. But I could be very wrong since there are plenty of tennis players that have had long careers. But since Federer's only standard is gold, is waiting and training for four years worth it? Maybe, especially since he'd have the chance to win gold at the All-England Tennis Club, the site for tennis at the London 2012 Olympics and where he has won five Wimbledon titles.

Meanwhile, Nadal's chances of capturing gold has now significantly increased as he has yet to play his quarterfinal match.
